In the DS wiki, the boneyard is a file tree header page to organize the large number of dating sites that die off or never gain momentum. A boneyard, by definition, is a place where worn-out, damaged, or non-functional objects are collected to await disposal. [1] It is estimated that near to 100 or more dating sites come and go each year and that many never even see the light of day. An example would be the Wikipedia spinoff Personals Wikia, launched in 2006, but now in decline. Another term is "retired sites", which are those smaller sites that get bought out or merged into bigger sites.Defunct sitesThe following sites are either defunct or don't seem to be operational anymore: - LoveHappens.com (Alexa: 12,516; Jul 08) (06-07) – discontinued (home) (article).
