Eric HolzleIn DS biographies, Eric Holzle is an American mechanical engineer who in 2007 pioneered MHC-matching in online dating site technologies by launching the site ScientificMatch in December of that year. [1]

History
Holzle, a longtime internet dater, prior to 2007, had spent years researching what scientists have discovered about human chemical attraction, during which time he researched what psychologists know about human relationships. Using this knowledge base, Holzle applied his insight into ScientificMatch, to create one of the most advanced dating services ever. Holzle conceived of a dating site MHC-matching application after watching a TV discussion on the findings of the sweaty T-shirt study. [2]

MHC matching
Aside from compatibility matching, users send in cotton swabs of their saliva to ScientificMatch, which then sends the samples to a lab in Oklahoma for processing. The turnaround time is about two weeks, after which time members can be matched according to MHC-compatibilities, which equates to sexual smell compatibilities, and healthy offspring. [3]
