In 2005, American psychologist Phil McGraw signed on with Match to be their relationship expert in the development of a matching technique called "find mind bind".

History
In 1993 by American electrical engineer and computer scientist Gary Kremen thought up the idea of making an Internet-style "electric classifieds" to replace the older 900-number print and dial-up classifieds. The idea came to Kremen while in the shower. He thought: "it would be really interesting to use the Internet for relationships, and to do it right."

Kremen saw the future in the logic of transforming the idea behind pay-per-call 900 telephone dating services into an Internet service using e-mail. The result, originally called Electric Classifieds, Inc., was Match.com, the well-known Internet dating-service that he founded in 1993 with $2 million in venture capital. In the years to follow, however, his board overruled him and sold the site before its full potential was realized, Kremen said. [2]
