The site was created in 2006 by American computer programmer Ricky Durham, who was inspired by the dating difficulties of his brother James, with Crone’s Disease, who had passed away in 2004. The site connects those with: Cancer, Diabetes, Obesity, Deafness, IBS and IBD, Allergies, Hepatitis, Recovering Alcoholics, Herpes, HIV, Hepatitis, Epilepsy, and Arthritis, among others. [2]
